Red Onion, Walnut and Gorgonzola Pizza

  • Dough ball
  • Gorgonzola
  • Walnuts
  • Red onion
  • Mozzarella
  • Whilst we all love a classic margarita, its always fun to try toppings that are slightly unusual and this is a great example of the diversity of pizza in general. The rich Gorgonzola against the crunchy onions and crispy charred walnuts give you a taste sensation like never before!

    Stretch your dough ball out into the perfect base and place down on a floured work top. You can see Roccbox HQ’s Pat’s tips on how to create the perfect pizza base here. 

    Drop chunks of gorgonzola onto your base being careful not to try to spread it as this will tear the dough. Then finely slice some red onion and sprinkle onto the pizza before topping with some chopped walnuts. You might also want to add some mozzarella – just to make the pizza extra cheesy.

    The flavours on this pizza are pretty resilient so try complementing it with a red wine or a hoppy ale and enjoy!
